Guided by Experience, Rooted in Compassion

Susana Baker is a New Jersey–based neurodiversity-affirming family consultant who walks alongside families navigating a new autism diagnosis and developmental differences. As both a mother to her own autistic child, diagnosed at age 2, and a homeschool educator from Pre-K through 3rd grade, she brings practical, real-life understanding of early childhood development, learning differences, and the rhythms of daily family life.

She partners with parents and caregivers to create steady home environments, strengthen confidence, and support growth in ways that feel sustainable and grounded. Her work complements therapeutic services by helping families gently apply what they’re learning into everyday life.

She believes that behavior is communication and that every child deserves a parenting style that honors their unique neurotype. By providing ongoing guidance as your family's needs evolve, she empowers you to become your child's most effective advocate while preserving your own mental and emotional wellbeing.

Diagnosed with ADHD at age 40, she also brings personal insight into the experience of being neurodivergent. This perspective allows her to connect deeply with parents and caregivers who may be discovering their own neurodiversity while raising an autistic child. She understands firsthand the complexity of navigating difference — both in oneself and in one’s child — and offers thoughtful, compassionate guidance to families where neurodiversity is part of the broader family story.

"I walk with parents and caregivers in the early and evolving stages after an autism diagnosis, helping them move from uncertainty and self-doubt toward a grounded understanding of the kind of parenting their child needs — with ongoing guidance as their family’s needs evolve, so they can build a steady and supportive home over time."
